The penny bun is also known as the: porcini, cep, and kings bolete. It is one of the most sought after edible mushrooms, and quite recognizable with its brown cap and cream white stem and pores. There are no toxic mushrooms that look like the penny bun. It can, however, be confused by other brown and cream coloured boletes, such as the bitter bolete which, as the name suggests is to bitter to eat.
This mini mushroom is about 3,5cm tall and is made from a single piece of basswood.
